Thursday's Rehearsal Notes 12/16

You guys had a fabulous rehearsal tonight!!!   The biggest thing we need to do is shave time off the transitions to and from dialogue.   We can do that by never exiting in the 1st wings so the characters can get on and drops can come down...always go upstage of the drops and moce quickly.  I am exited to see it with an audience tomorrow!!!  


Call time:


Doors open at 8am.  Call time for mics is 8:30 am.  Everyone else MUST be there by 9am.  Watch out for traffic.  The 8 backs up really bad in the morning.  I think the 94 might too.  Don't forget to eat breakfast!!!  I don't want anyone passing out on stage!!!!


Pictures will be following the school show....put on your favorite costume (certain groups need to wear certain costumes) ie....ensemble wear opening dresses....kickline wear jingle bells....swing wear the red pleated dresses....all others pick your favorite!!!!  We are going to book through it so we can get out of the theater so hurry to get dressed!!!


Traditions 

Kalene and  Sarah walk all the way out to stage right after coming out of the V.  You are too far apart.

Swing couple girls - that leg in the kick dip needs to be straight and pointed!!!

Dress Notes from Wednesday Night!!! Please read!

So many technical things happened last night...thank you cast for being patient.  This is it!!!!  One more dress and were have an audience!!!!  I need many of you to start performing it!!!   Use you faces and be sharp!  On your exits, get off stage faster so sets can move.  Do not talk back stage, mics are on and we hear you!

We will space traditions with the 6 chorus people, CAW finale with POS people and Donkey in front, Ensemble's All I want, and Kickline, elves and Santa with sleigh.  Then we will do mic check and begin the run!!!  Please be in the house on time!!!!!!

Nativity

Travelers walk at a normal pace and enter sooner.

Angels and shepherds - The crew has asked that you not climb onto the boxes until they are set.  They need to make sure they are correct!!!

ALL in Nativity!! - NO JAZZ SHOES!!!  You must have sandals to match the period.

Kickline and kings - entourage and Kings are all royal so look up...not at the ground.  If your costume does not cover your face then you need a beard.  Kings all need beards.  Godd job on timing without having the narration.  Mollie come out a little sooner when the first king is 2/3rds across

During the transitions we can hear you!!!  Your mics are on!!!!

Make entrances as soon as lights go out to avoid getting trapped in wings by exiting bodies

Lexi - DO NOT TALK BEFORE OR AFTER SCENES AND DO NOT PROMPT OTHERS ON WHAT TO SAY BECAUSE YOUR MIC IS ON AND WE HEAR YOU!  It was great when you "covered" for Jamaica though

Your specials will always be around 6-7-8...make sure you are in your place

After Mexico dialogue, exit stage RIGHT now and walk behind.
During Hanukah, stay stage left and watch.  Make sure you step downstage so when carolers enter they can get behind you.
After Caroling follow carolers over to stage right and stay and watch Hawaii, Jamaica, and silent Night
On cross to stage left on Cookie dialogue make sure you make it all the way across while talking so the dancers can enter from st right in the dark. Then stay and watch!

Get on stage asap after jingle bells so you don't get caught in the wings by exiting girls.

The trumpeters will have a hat.  Lexi - when they are done, run up and put money in the hat.

Notes from Tuesday's dress!!! Please read before coming to the theater Wednesday.

You guys did a great job last night....I know there were technical issues as we completely expect but than you so much for being patient and going with the flow!!!!  The show is looking great especially for our first dress!!!

The union crew has asked that the cast move (walk not run) fast when entering and exiting....especially exiting....they do not want to hit anyone with the rails.

As you can see we have space constraints in this beautiful theater.  Please keep your spirit up...negativity and complaining spread like wild fire!!!!!

Tonight we meet right at 6 sharp in the house.  You can get in the building beginning at 5 again however DO NOT CROSS OR GO ONTO THE STAGE.  Use the stage L stairs to enter the house ONLY...You can use either stage left or right though when getting on stage during the run of the show...whichever is the side you are suppose to enter on.  You may only enter and exit the building at the one door by the security guard...do not exit at alley gate or roll up door please.

Please get there early enough to validate parking before you come in.  If you can get as much makeup and hair done before you come that is way helpful!!!

Tuesday's rehearsal went much better than anticipated and largely in part to your patience.   Please remember all parts, pieces, tights, eyelashes, wig caps, bobby pins and anything else you may need!!!!

Please come to the theater with your makeup on and hair done, starting Tuesday, (unless you have specialized makeup or wigs) Hair must be off your face.

makeup (Everyone should be wearing makeup)

Don't forget tights (if you have been asked to wear them)

DEODORANT

Don't forget to underdress

tub or basket with lid to keep your parts and pieces in. Label everything in your box. Do not bring valuables. ....no HUGE storage organizers...there is no room.

Bring all your costumes, parts and pieces with you. They will stay at the theater. You can not bring your costumes home.

You can park in Horton Plaza, but make sure you get validation for three hours, or you can park in the NBC building for a flat rate. Remember, after 6 metered parking is free.

Please do not drop your children off at the street to run into the theater. I need them to be walked up to the stage door to be checked in.

I will be at the theater tomorrow to get some more information about the theater and backstage. I will let you know of any more details that could possibly make this easier for all of you.
